Aberdeenshire Council over the moon with their new Cadcorp GIS cloud system

Partner:    Cadcorp

 Background

Aberdeenshire Council serves a population of 267,000 in the North-East of Scotland.

The Requirement

Aberdeenshire had used the same two GIS systems for over ten years and needed to move to more modern, cloud-hosted systems, to fulfil procurement rules and align with their ICT Strategy.  In March 2016, the Council issued a tender for Provision of Geographical Information Systems under Crown Commercial Service’s Local Authority Software Applications Framework, RM1059.

Our Success

Aberdeenshire selected Bramble Hub and Cadcorp’s GIS desktop and web products to deliver their requirements.  This included Cadcorp SIS Map Modeller for desktop use, Web Map Layers for intranet and internet, and GeognoSIS, a geospatial web services engine to distribute the Council’s spatial data.

The order was placed on 1st September 2016 and included consultancy and tools to help Aberdeenshire migrate their spatial data from the incumbent systems.
